The Recruiting Diagnostic.

A one-time engagement that maps a scholar-athlete's realistic recruiting path — the overlap between what he wants, what he measures out to, and what the market will actually give him.

01

What it is

Clarity before you spend a cycle guessing.

The Diagnostic is the answer to the question every honest parent is actually asking: how is this going to go for my kid?

Together we look at academics, athletic measurables, film, and timeline — and then we map them against the schools your son wants and the schools that would actually want him back. You leave with a written plan, a realistic target list, and the language to run the process yourself.

It's a start-to-finish view of the recruiting cycle before you spend the cycle learning it the hard way.

02

First, a definition

What a pre-read is.

A pre-read is when an admissions office reviews a recruit's academic file at a coach's request and gives the coach a soft yes, a soft no, or a "needs more" — before an official offer or application. It's how Ivy, NESCAC, and Patriot League programs de-risk both sides of the equation.

Coaches won't spend a scarce roster spot on a recruit admissions won't clear. Families who understand pre-reads stop chasing the wrong schools and start focusing on the ones where a real offer is possible.

The Diagnostic is designed to get families pre-read ready — and to see which programs are realistic pre-read targets in the first place.
03

What we look at

Five inputs. One honest read.

Academics
GPA, transcript rigor, SAT/ACT, and how your school profile reads to admissions.
Athletics
Height, weight, position-specific measurables, speed, and strength — measured against real college rosters.
Film
Game tape reviewed the way a college coach watches it — what it actually shows, and what it doesn't.
Timeline
Grade level, camp calendar, unofficial visit windows, and the pre-read windows that gate everything else.
Target list
The bleeding edge — reach, realistic, and safety programs based on the actual overlap between academics and athletics.
04

What you get

Deliverables, in writing.

  • A customized recruiting timeline with milestones and benchmarks month by month
  • A tiered target school list built on the academic and athletic overlap
  • Coach outreach scripts — initial email, follow-ups, camp asks, post-visit

  • Highlight tape direction — what to cut, what to lead with, what to leave out
  • Pre-read preparation checklist and timing plan
05

Who it's for

Families who want the truth first.

  • Families early in the process who want a map, not guesses.
  • Rising sophomores through rising seniors targeting academically selective football programs.
  • Parents who want an honest read on where their son actually fits — before the calendar makes the decision for them.
06

Investment

Discussed on the intro call.

Every engagement is scoped to the family — grade, position, academic profile, and how much runway is left in the cycle. A discovery call is the fastest way to see if it's the right fit and what it looks like for your son.
